The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has released a major report calling for the UK government to promote electronic cigarettes via a mass media campaign.
This would form part of a campaign that returned funding for anti-smoking campaigns to at least 2008 levels.
The suggestion is just one of a number of recommendations the RCP has made to encourage the use.....

Opposition to vaping is driven by a complex web of factors. These include money, anti-nicotine morality and a justified distrust of anything related to tobacco companies.
To get further into the web, it’s important to understand the precautionary principle.
What is the precautionary principle?
The precautionary principle applies across different fields of science.
It informs policy when:

When Vanity Fair journalist Marie Brenner met Jeffrey Wigand in 1996, Jeffrey was accompanied by a bodyguard.
His reputation was under attack. Lawyers were trying to destroy him. He and his children had received death threats, one accompanied by a bullet.
One of the death threats read:
“We want you to know that we have not forgotten you or your little brats......
Once again, vaping in the EU is facing multiple threats, both at an EU level and at a state level.
The latest EU wide threat comes from the EU Beating Cancer Plan.
I got together with Damian from the European Tobacco Harm Reduction Advocates group to find out what the plan means for vapers, what the implications are and how to.....
During 12 years in this industry, I have seen numerous attempts to derail and destroy vaping.
These attempts have often had some success.
Today, in many countries, vapers face restrictions, flavour bans and even criminal prosecution. Some vapers have been fined or sent to prison for daring to use e-cigarettes to try and stop smoking and save their lives.
Even in the.....

This post is a part of our 2021 vape predictions.
I think most people would be keen to see the back of 2020 and head into 2021 without looking back. Yes, lockdown and the economic hardship which many in the vape sector have experienced has been bad. This has affected manufacturing but particularly vape stores.....
At a time when vaping in Europe is again under threat, with taxes, flavour bans and restrictions looming, non-profit organisation European Tobacco Harm Reduction Advocates (ETHRA), are running an ambitious survey to draw a map of vaping and nicotine use across the EU (and, yes, that includes the UK!)
We got together with Philippe Poirson, who is directing the.....
10 tips for getting through the current crisis
Times are brutal for the retail industry.
On top of the EVALI scare last year, vape shops have been forced to close for months. Even between lockdowns, some customers are going to ground in the midst of the worst pandemic for a hundred years.
To survive and thrive, vape shops have to adapt and.....
Over the last few years, no official government body in the world has endorsed vaping like Public Health England has.
With grace and integrity, the organisation and the people at its helm, have countered misinformation. For example, when the lung disease EVALI was wrongly attributed to nicotine vaping (it was actually caused by the use of illegal cannabis in the.....
From a small niche market in the late 2010s, vaping has rapidly changed the face of nicotine and tobacco in the world, gaining over 40 million users worldwide by 2018.
However, it has gained some powerful enemies in the process.
In this post, we’ll be soaring over the superlatives and hyperbole present in the vaping debate, and looking at the story.....
It’s strange how sometimes something really big can creep in with barely a whisper.
An example of this is an upcoming ban on menthol cigarettes, which will be banned in the UK and the EU from May 20th 2020 - yet many smokers have still not heard of the ban.
The impact could be huge - while estimates vary,.....
Just a week ago I speculated that vape shops might not close in the UK.
It was not to be.
Last night vape shops, along with all other non-essential shops, were ordered closed by the government.
That’s despite lobbying from both vape trade associations (IBVTA / UKVIA), who called for vape shops to remain open to help people stay.....
As Coronavirus continues to impact life across the UK (and, indeed, the world), we thought you might appreciate an update from a vaping perspective.
There’s rumours to quash, vape hygiene to consider and the need to think about the continued supply of vape products.
Let’s get started.
Will vape shops be shut in a lockdown? Maybe not...
What's going to happen to vape.....
Time drifts away like a cloud of gentle vapour, and after attending the 1st E-Cigarette summit in 2013 (and every one since!) it seems astonishing to find myself at the 7th event.
Events change too, and gone are the huddles of dedicated vapers at the back of the room. Indeed, you can't now vape in the building of the Royal.....
Times are difficult for the vape sector.
Since people started experiencing severe respiratory illnesses in the USA after using illegal, mostly THC cartridges, we’ve seen an avalanche of negative headlines. As a result, vape businesses are reporting a fall in sales, which particularly seems to be affecting starter kits and business catering to new and casual vapers.
The impact in the.....
